Ikala STEM will kick-off its first annual workshop on the 11th of November 2017 at the Institute and Observatory of Geophysics (IOGA), Antananarivo, Madagascar. The workshop will become an annual event of the association, aiming to promote exchange of knowledge between Malagasy young scientists, create a long-term science networking as well as to guide and advise students with key skills needed as scientists.
This year, our theme is on “building science skills through volunteering”. The workshop will thus focus on how and where scientists can volunteer and outreach. A session on communication skills will also take place.
The workshop will consist of presentations by keynote speakers, group discussions and practical sessions through mini-projects. Participants will have ample of opportunities to interact and build their networks.
The workshop’s targets all students in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. However a limited number of participants will be selected based on the quality of their applications.
